Privacy Policy for the type me application
This is the Privacy Policy for type me, the voice interview application operated at typeme.fun. It is not a template or sample policy. It describes how the type me application accesses, uses, stores, shares, protects, retains, and deletes information, including Google user data obtained through Google Sign-In.
Summary: Google user data
type me uses Google Sign-In only for authentication. The Google user
data we access is limited to your Google user ID, email address, name,
and profile picture (OAuth scopes: openid,
email, profile). We use that Google user data
only to create your account, keep you signed in, show who is signed in,
and attach your interviews to you. We do not sell Google user data, do
not use it for advertising, and do not use it to train generalized AI
or ML models. Google user data is encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and
in transit (HTTPS/TLS). We do not send your Google user ID, email,
name, or profile picture to ElevenLabs, LLM providers, or advertising
platforms.
1. What Google user data is accessed by our application
When you choose “Continue with Google” in the type me app, our application will access the following Google user data that you have provided to Google and that Google returns via the Sign-In / userinfo APIs:
- Google account user ID (the stable
subidentifier) - Email address
- Full name / display name
- Profile picture URL (if your Google account provides one)
- Email verification status (we only complete sign-in if the email is verified)
Our application does not access
Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Google Contacts, Google Calendar,
YouTube data, Google Photos, or any other Google product data. We request
only the OAuth scopes openid, email, and
profile (non-sensitive Sign-In scopes).
2. How our application uses Google user data
We will use your Google user data to provide you with the services you requested in the type me application, specifically to:
- Create and identify your type me user account
- Authenticate you and keep you signed in across visits
- Display your name and profile photo in the app interface
- Associate interview sessions and results with your account so they remain private to you
- Respond to privacy, support, or deletion requests you send us
We will not sell your Google user data to third parties. We do not use Google user data for targeted advertising, personalized advertising, retargeting, interest-based advertising, credit scoring, lending, data brokering, or building unrelated databases.
type me’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide or improve user-facing features that are prominent in the type me interface (sign-in, account identity, and ownership of your interviews).
3. How we store Google user data
Google user data (Google user ID, email, name, and profile picture URL) is stored in your type me account record on application servers and disk storage under our control that host typeme.fun. Account records are written as encrypted files (AES-256-GCM) before they are saved to disk. A signed session cookie is stored in your browser so you remain logged in for up to 30 days, or until you sign out. Interview records are stored with a link to your internal account ID (not your Google password) so only you can access them while signed in.
4. With whom we share, transfer, or disclose Google user data
We do not transfer or disclose Google user data to third parties for purposes other than providing or improving the type me application, security, or legal compliance.
- Google — as the identity provider for Sign-In / OAuth. We receive Google user data from Google; we do not send your interview audio to Google Sign-In.
- Hosting / infrastructure operators — the VPS or cloud host that runs typeme.fun may process encrypted storage volumes and network traffic as part of hosting. Google user data fields in account files are encrypted at rest before disk write.
- Law enforcement / legal process — we may disclose data if required by applicable law.
We do not send your Google user ID, email address, name, or profile picture to ElevenLabs, our LLM / model router, OpenRouter, advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers. Voice and language-model providers process interview audio/text only to run the interview turn you started. They receive interview content, not your Google Sign-In identity fields. Your Google account identity is used by type me solely for authentication and ownership.
5. Data protection mechanisms for Google user data and other sensitive data
Security procedures are in place to protect the confidentiality of your data. We use encryption to protect your information:
- Encryption in transit via HTTPS / TLS for all typeme.fun traffic
- Encryption at rest for Google user data account records using AES-256-GCM before files are written to disk
- Signed, HttpOnly session cookies (Secure flag in production) to protect account sessions
- Server-side session invalidation when you sign out, so prior cookies stop working
- Access controls that bind interview sessions and retained audio to the authenticated account owner
No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. Spoken interview content can be sensitive; use the product with that in mind.
6. Data retention and deletion of Google user data
We store your personal information, including Google user data, for a period of time that is consistent with providing the type me service: while your account exists and as needed to show your past interviews, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
- Google Sign-In profile fields are retained for the life of your type me account.
- When you delete your account (in the app, or by emailing us), we delete your encrypted account record and associated interview session data and retained audio that we control.
- Session cookies last up to 30 days or until you sign out.
You may delete your account and data in the type me app (signed-in landing screen: “delete my account and data”). You may also request deletion by emailing privacy@typeme.fun from the email address on your account; we process verified requests promptly. You may also revoke type me’s access to your Google Account at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions (revoking Google access does not by itself delete data already stored in type me — use in-app deletion or email us for that).
7. Other data the type me application processes (not Google user data)
Separately from Google Sign-In, when you use the interview product you may provide microphone audio, transcripts, optional retained audio evidence, and derived belief-map / compass results. That content is used only to run your interview and show your results. It is not Google user data. Optional audio files are kept only if you opt in to retain them for that session. Belief / compass outputs may reflect political or philosophical opinions you expressed; we process them only to deliver the service you request.
8. Children
type me is intended for adults 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect Google user data or belief profiles from children. Contact us to delete any data collected in error.
9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
If we change how the type me application uses Google user data, we will update this Privacy Policy, change the version and effective date above, notify you in the application, and prompt you to affirmatively consent to the updated Privacy Policy before we use your Google user data in any new way or for any different purpose than originally disclosed. We will not rely on continued use alone as consent for new Google user-data uses.
